While the MENA region as a whole still has room to achieve various milestones in government and public services, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) stands out as an exception. Notably, the GCC has witnessed significant improvements in the operational models of government and public sectors. A key driver of these advancements is the digital transformation, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of government services.
The GCC has been at the forefront of embracing initiatives like Smart City Development, which integrate technology and data analytics to enhance the management of urban areas, including transportation and infrastructure. Among developed countries in the GCC, such as the UAE, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have revolutionized the delivery of goods and services, resulting in greater efficiency and effectiveness in urban management. Moreover, governments in the GCC are actively investing in citizen engagement to foster transparency and accountability within their administrations.
